What is KANSHITSU ?
KANSHITSU is one of the technique of the statue production in the Orient swelled with lacquer (japan , URUSHI ) put on hemp cloth and heaped up the thing which kneaded a mixture of lacquer and wood flour, and to form an image.
Kanshitsu ware is very right & beautiful and useful for daily life .
In JAPAN , only few artists concentrate to keep this traditional technique .

In URUSHI , most common use is to use it as paint
The beauty and toughness in tools or goods which lacquer waspainted are evaluated
as a folkcraft, and the lacquering to glisten black is used for tableware and high quality furniture, a musical instrument with are called lacquerware. The lacquer resists heat and moisture, acid, alkali. Because there are prevention of corruption,
the effect of the insecticide, it is suitable for tableware and furniture. On the other
hand, it is deteriorated when received ultraviolet rays. In addition, it is cracked when exposed to extreme drying states for a long term and peeled out .
A lacquered traditional color as the paint is black and
Vermilion.
Lacquer and rash
When skin has raw lacquer, sometimes rash occur, but this is
an allergic reaction by the urushiol. The person with an allergy of the urushiol may get a rash just to have passed near the
lacquered tree.
